Formation of Aspire
In 2016, the Ministry of Education entrusted IIT Bombay with a pivotal mission: to establish the Research Park within the sprawling campus in Powai, Mumbai. This led to the creation of ASPIRE – the IIT Bombay Research Park Foundation, a non-profit organisation dedicated to catalysing innovation and research with real-world impact. Inspired by globally successful research park models, ASPIRE emerges as the epicenter, that connects knowledge, expertise, and resources seamlessly, fostering a strong and collaborative industry-academia ecosystem with a global outlook.
What Do We Do At ASPIRE?
Cultivating R&D partnerships which evolve into a thriving innovation hub, advancing technologies with meaningful societal impact. Our industry-centric workspaces facilitate collaborative development, while students gain invaluable corporate research exposure, enriching the nation’s talent pool. Inauguration of ASPIRE-IIT Bombay Research Park
Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the G+14 floor ASPIRE- IIT Bombay Research Park on February 20, 2024. The 5 lakh sq ft facility, with dignitaries present, signifies a pivotal step in promoting innovation and marks a significant milestone in advancing innovation and collaboration between academia and industry.
Indo - French R&D Seminar
The ‘Indo-French R&D Seminar,’ conducted by IIT Bombay Research Park Foundation-ASPIRE, in collaboration with the Indo-French Chamber of Commerce & Industry (IFCCI) and The French Institute in India, was a resounding success.

Conclave on Sustainability
We hosted this with 194 attendees, featuring talks, parallel sessions, and a poster competition. This event was honoured by Chief Guest, Dr M. Ravichandran, Hon’ble Secretary, Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India. The panel discussion highlighted the need for sector-specific strategies and local approaches to address Sustainable Development Goals.
