"Associated with IITB Research Park since February 2017"

Our association with IITB Research Park has brought several benefits to our work. Most important is the access to the various laboratories of IITB: for fabricating devices & 3D printed structures, characterizing devices, conducting bio experiments, access to faculty for discussion & collaboration etc. We have also benefited from our association with students of IITB as our interns. It has worked both ways – the students got to work on cutting edge projects that have a ‘product’, & we got interns who were brilliant at work. Through IITB Research Park we were allowed to test our security product: Nanosniffer – Explosives Trace Detector, at IITB’s Main Gate. This allowed us to collect and test field data in real-time. This activity was immensely useful in improving the field performance of our product.

At igrenEnergi we build intelligent technologies and products to make EV batteries economically viable for all. During our brief association with IITB Research Park, we have had the opportunity to meet numerous faculty members from Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, and Computer Science departments, and to identify areas for research collaboration. We hope to bring one or more of these collaborations to fruition in the near future. Additionally, our R&D activities sometimes require the use of sophisticated equipment which is not economical if we need access only for short durations. In such cases, we have found it very helpful to use the equipment available in IIT labs, on a time-shared basis and a pay-per-use model. Finally, we have had interactions with students at all levels of study, and in fact, one student has joined our company on a full-time basis recently after completing his Ph.D.

Ubisoft in India has been associated with the IITB Research Park since 2018. The Ubisoft team at IITB Research Park works on developing solutions involving Computer Vision and Machine Learning that can be integrated with QC and Production needs in the future. To our benefit, most of our team members at the Ubisoft India Research Unit hail from the very institute and they work in close collaboration with faculties and students from IITB on research projects. We work closely with two professors who are renowned scholars in the field of AI/ML and computer vision. Apart from this, we have access to many other Professors in the field of Artificial Intelligence, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics etc., and also to students who are seeking Bachelors, Masters and PhD’s in these subjects

In line with its commitment to IIT Bombay and in support of India’s vision of becoming an electronics manufacturing hub, Applied Materials India became the first anchor client at IIT Bombay’s Research Park in 2015. The facility enables close interaction with faculty and student researchers and benefits from seamless access to labs, equipment and services. The journey that started with few sponsored programs in 2005, over the last decade and half has grown exponentially to include India’s first university –based facility with 200 mm fab tools, three on-site labs focusing on Nanotechnology, Chemistry & Material Sciences and R&D on next-generation technologies, and a jointly offered Semiconductor Technology and Manufacturing Certification Program, the first of its kind in India. The collaboration has also catalyzed the establishment of two national research centers at IIT Bombay – the Center of Excellence in Nanoelectronics (CEN) and the National Center for Photovoltaics Research & Education (NCPRE). Applied Materials India has sponsored more than 100 projects as a research partner for IIT Bombay to develop cutting-edge technology in various areas. As Applied Materials India looks to the future with IIT Bombay as an ‘institute of eminence’, it finds an opportunity to expand this visionary collaboration into more exciting and emerging areas like nanofabrication, manufacturing and materials, sustainable chemical science, health sciences and engineering.

Tejase is a start-up focused on airborne sensors for military and civilian applications. We are committed to deliver the world’s best sensors and systems in measurement technology for aerospace applications. 

We are working with DRDO and HAL to develop fully indigenous sensors with upgraded technology to be used on existing and upcoming aircraft platforms. We are presently focused on temperature, pressure and angle measurement technologies.

SustLabs is an MSME driving cutting-edge R&D in energy analytics, with a focus on Non-Intrusive Load Monitoring (NILM) and smart grid fault detection. Our work spans NILM with Three-Phase Fault Detection, Probabilistic Detection of Electrical Anomalies, and Deterministic Detection of Electrical Anomalies from Smart Meter Data — with multiple full and provisional patents filed.

 

Through our engagement with IITB Research Park, we collaborate closely with faculty and research labs at IIT Bombay, including projects with Prof. Anupama Kowli (IPCL DSM), and are exploring synergies with Prof. Himanshu Bahirath. We also support doctoral research and interdisciplinary student teams such as Team Shunya.

 

Future areas of exploration include Probabilistic and Deterministic Fire Detection in DC Circuits, appliance health monitoring at scale, and operating systems for smart meters. This collaborative environment enables SustLabs to accelerate innovation and scale intelligent energy monitoring solutions for a sustainable energy future.

EMERGY Enviro Pvt. Ltd was established with the sole aim of providing environmental solutions to industrial & governmental organizations on all environmental issues through its high-quality, tailored services and innovative products. The company is an initiative by an IIT-B graduate for technology transfer from research scale to on-field implementation.

 

Our IP product, ‘Integrated Wetland Technology’ (IWT), developed at IIT BOMBAY, is an innovative decentralized Green Sewage Treatment Plant with zero energy requirement. N-treat, another innovative product of EMERGY to treat wastewater inside the nallah (in-situ treatment), is also been developed in association with IIT Bombay. Both products are commercially available, and R&D is ongoing to upgrade them further.

 

Moreover, some products such as Indoor Air Quality Control Technology for Parking Lot, Odour Control Equipment, Bio-stabilized Aerated Static Pile are developed in association with Prof Dikshit, IIT Bombay. R & D is ongoing to develop Multi-effect Solar evaporator.

Our association with the research park will help us with better access to R&D facilities and open up collaboration opportunities with the faculty and student pool.

Additionally, we integrate renewable energy with optimised storage solutions for efficient and sustainable energy management.

 

InSolare’s collaboration with IIT Bombay includes multiple strategic initiatives. We engage in sponsored projects with professors from the Chemistry and Energy Science departments, focusing on advanced research in Green Hydrogen Production technologies. Additionally, we leverage consultancy projects with an Energy Science professor for expert guidance on specialized projects. To foster student involvement, we offer IITB students hands-on experience in our R&D projects, creating potential career pathways.

We are actively working on digitization and intelligent data extraction using advanced AI technologies. Our solutions integrate Computer Vision, Optical Character Recognition (OCR), Handwritten Text Recognition (HTR), Natural Language Processing (NLP), and Large Language Models (LLM) to revolutionize the way organizations process and analyze data.

 

Currently, we are collaborating with the National Archives of India (NAI) on a five-year project focused on digitizing historical records. Using OCR and HTR, we are converting vast volumes of printed and handwritten documents into machine-readable text, followed by intelligent data extraction to derive meaningful insights.
