Nanosniff

Associated with IITB Research Park since February 2017

Our association with ASPIRE IITB Research Park Foundation has brought several benefits to our work. Most important is the access to the various laboratories at IIT Bombay, for fabricating initial devices & 3D printed structures, characterising devices, conducting biological experiments, access to faculty for discussion & collaboration, etc. We have also benefited from our association with students of IIT Bombay as our interns. It has worked both ways – the students got to work on cutting-edge projects that envision a ‘product’, & we got interns who were brilliant at work.

Through ASPIRE IITB Research Park Foundation, we were facilitated to test our security product: Nanosniffer – Explosives Trace Detector, at IIT Bombay’s Main Gate. This allowed us to collect field data in real-time. This activity was immensely useful in improving the field performance of our product & ruggedising it.

From launching the first-generation Ohm Assistant in 2021 to today’s fourth-generation technology, SustLabs now enables real-time electricity monitoring, appliance-level insights, and even advanced fire detection — providing alerts up to 20 minutes before a potential electrical fire.

Our collaborations span marquee real estate developers like Rustomjee, Piramal, Prestige, and Agami, as well as global OEM partners including Schneider Electric, Panasonic, and Inepro (Netherlands). SustLabs is still very young and very hungry to grow, and create technologies that shape healthier, safer, and more sustainable cities.

CTech Labs Pvt. Ltd.

Associated with IITB Research Park since June 2021

CTech Labs has been associated with ASPIRE IIT Bombay Research Park Foundation since 2021. It has been a great homecoming, as CTech is a graduate of SINE, IITB Incubator, and homecoming personally for me too, as I had been associated with IITB academics as Head & Sr. Professor at IDC.

ASPIRE is a big help in making connections with professors and students for internships and to mentor startups. We developed a deeper relationship with Swayam-Prabha, RUTAG, and CTARA, creating special products for rural applications, holding joint patents. CTech has rights to a number of IITB patents, which are converted to marketable products in sanitation, rural lighting and EV mobility. We are keen to extend this activity (Industry-Academia relation) with more IITB research groups. We are also keen to collaborate with ‘Aspire’ fellow companies.

CTech is an innovation-driven, design-led organisation, supplementing the R&D efforts by infusing creative methodologies, delivering customised human-centred solutions, integrating business & technical aspects, especially supporting early innovation. CTech has partnered with several companies, for example, L&T, Crompton Greaves, Lumax, Tata Steel, etc. and many DRDO research labs for new product development, delivered modular housing systems, communication devices, pan-India data capture & data transmission systems, drug delivery systems, etc.
